Today was inauguration day – As this day approached, I wrestled with a host of emotions – in particular, a strong sense of hopelessness and insignificance. But instead of watching inaugural events, I spent the day in Springfield learning about emerging industry, community and neighborhood leaders making real change, and witnessing the spirit of positivity. To cap off the day’s events, we had the opportunity to help walk elementary school children home from school as part of a walking school bus. Seeing the children’s excitement at sharing their daily activity was beautiful. When it came time to make my image for the day, nothing seemed to capture the day’s emotions or activities, though this image of clutter reminds me that life is still life.
